FC Barcelona has made its decision for Adama Traoré

Arrived at Barcelona this winter in the form of a loan with an option to buy from Wolverhampton, Adama Traore now knows that he will not stay in Catalonia next season.
It’s time for big decisions in Barcelona. With a few weeks to go before the end of the season, the Blaugrana staff is drawing up the outlines of the squad for next year. In recent hours, Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff, the two strong men of the sports management, have been busy making the best decisions possible. Some of them will not always please those concerned.
According to information from Sport, they have notably made the choice not to include Adama Traoré next year. Trained at Barça before joining England in 2015 at the age of only 19, the athletic winger had returned this winter from Wolverhampton in the form of a loan with an option to buy set at € 30 million. This option will not be exercised.
Barça will not lift Traoré’s purchase option
It is the recent performances that have tipped the balance. Despite a good start, he had become a substitute with the return to business of Ousmane Dembélé, that of Ansu Fati after a long injury, but also the good games of Ferran Torres and the rising form of Memphis Depay, the 26-year-old player has not started any of the last nine games of La Liga. Remained on the bench against Mallorca last weekend, he looked like he had a bad day.
He could also have been bartered with Wolverhampton and Francisco Trincao, the Portuguese was for his part loaned to Wolves with a similar purchase option. The Barcelona management has decided otherwise and has set two other targets for players in the same position as the Spanish international. They are targeting Raphinha, whose transfer is close, and still believe in the extension of Ousmane Dembélé.
